Regular Season Round 6: Svisloch - Impuls BGUIR 93-75

Svisloch has finally registered their first victory this season after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Impuls BGUIR (1-4) 93-75. It looked good early as Impuls BGUIR took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Svisloch had a 24-20 second period charge getting the lead and Impuls BGUIR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-93. Svisloch forced 27 Impuls BGUIR turnovers. Lithuanian point guard Vytautas Kamarunas (179-89) notched 32 points, 8 assists and 7 steals to lead the effort and the former international guard Maksim Shustau (188-86) supported him with 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Svisloch players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals by point guard Anton Papruha (190-93) did not help to save the game for Impuls BGUIR. Henadziy Zakhar (198-92) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Impuls BGUIR's coach Fedor Rodenko rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Svisloch left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Impuls BGUIR. It was Impuls BGUIR's fourth loss in a row. Svisloch will play against higher ranked Rubon (#3) in Vitebsk in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Impuls BGUIR will play at home against the league's leader Grodno-93 to get more than just one victory in their record.
