Regular Season Round 6: M.Magixx - Leiden 81-85

An interesting game for Leiden (6-1) which played road game in Nijmegen against 3rd ranked M.Magixx (4-3). Second ranked Leiden managed to get a 4-point victory 85-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of M.Magixx. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But M.Magixx won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leiden made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by M.Magixx helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for international guard Arvin Slagter (191-85, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Patrick Hilliman (206-82, college: High Point, agency: R.H.Consultancy) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Leiden players scored in double figures. American forward Kyle Spain (196-87, college: San Diego St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and Ghanian-American guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe (187-88, college: N.Iowa) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for M.Magixx. Leiden have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-1 record behind leader Den Bosch. M.Magixx at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Leiden are looking forward to face Leeuwarden (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. M.Magixx will play against Rotterdam and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
