CIS round 3 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Alberta (2-1) against leader Calgary (3-0) 65-61 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Alberta. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 19-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Calgary forced 32 Alberta turnovers. It was a good game for forward Jessica Franz (183) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Australian guard Ashley Hirons (175) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Calgary players scored in double figures. Forward Anneka Bakker (186-90) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and forward Saskia Van Ginhoven (185) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Alberta.
