Rather expected game in Prince George, BC where bottom-ranked Spartans (0-3) were rolled over by fifth ranked Timberwolves (2-1) 109-87 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Timberwolves. Spartans was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Timberwolves shot 61.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Spartans were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Francis Rowe (178) fired 25 points and 5 steals for the winners. point guard Joel Rybachuk (173) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Tyler Linttell (198) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and Mark Perrin added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Timberwolves and four Spartans players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Timberwolves moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Spartans still closes the standings with three games lost. Timberwolves will face again Spartans (#8) in Langley, BC in the next round where they are favorite.
