There was a surprise result in Winnipeg, MB where eighth ranked Bobcats (1-2) edged one of their biggest challengers Bisons (1-2) 78-76 on Friday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-76. Bobcats forced 19 Bisons turnovers. Ilarion Bonhomme fired 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Naturalized Greek forward James Elias (210-91) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Bobcats players scored in double figures. Bobcats' coach Gil Cheung used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Stephan Walton (178-87, college: Valdosta St.) produced 20 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Yigit Ozsayiner (198) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Bobcats left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Bisons. Bobcats will have a break next round. Bisons will play again at home against Bobcats (#6) in Brandon, MB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
