No shocking result in a game in Vancouver, BC where top-ranked Thunderbirds (3-0) defeated 4th ranked Wolfpack (1-2) 82-70 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Thunderbirds. Wolfpack was better in third quarter 31-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Thunderbirds outrebounded Wolfpack 44-29 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Doug Plumb (193, college: Minnesota St.) fired 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Isaiah Solomon (183) chipped in 18 points. Five Thunderbirds players scored in double figures. Guard Kevin Pribilsky (180) produced 28 points and 4 steals and Will Ondrik added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Thunderbirds have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record, which they share with Victoria. Loser Wolfpack dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Thunderbirds will face again Wolfpack (#5) in Kamloops, BC in the next round.
