Regular Season Round 8: Fos Ouest - St Quentin 83-77

There was an upset when higher ranked Saint-Quentin (4-4) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Fos Ouest (3-5) 83-77 on Friday. Saint-Quentin trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 24-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 77-83 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Saint-Quentin 38-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Fos Ouest looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward John Williamson (199-86, college: Cincinnati) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import swingman Chris Davis (195-80, college: N.Texas, agency: Court Side) chipped in 25 points. Four Fos Ouest players scored in double figures. Fos Ouest's coach Remi Giutta used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Julien Lesieu (201-83) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and American Darnell Williams (202-78, college: San Jose St., agency: David Lee services) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Fos Ouest moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Nantes. Newly promoted Saint-Quentin dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Fos Ouest will face Bordeaux (#17) on the road in the next round.
