Regular Season Round 5: Palma - Castello 72-86

Castello can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in S'Arenal, where they defeated Palma (2-3) 86-72. It looked good early as Palma took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Castello had a 21-11 second period charge getting the lead and Palma was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-86. Castello forced 19 Palma turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Palma helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Luis Parejo (196-89) nailed 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and guard Jose Maria Garcia (193-87) accounted for 16 points. point guard Sergio Riera (182-87) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Haitian-American center Robert Joseph (204-78, college: Union, TN) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Palma in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Palma's coach Matias Cerda rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Castello (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. Palma at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Castello's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Oviedo CB at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
