Rather expected game in Saporro where 7th ranked Hokkaido L. (1-11) was rolled over by fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (8-4) 94-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Toshiba Thunders led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Hokkaido L.'s 46. They outrebounded Hokkaido L. 39-18 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import forward Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Daisuke Noguchi (196-83) who recorded 17 points and naturalized American forward Jo Kurino-Dews (195-80, college: Mount Olive) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders moved-up to third place, which they share with Panasonic T. Hokkaido L. lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Osaka in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against the league's leader Toyota Alvark in Fuchu.
