Regular Season Round 4: Valladolid - Oviedo 68-44

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Oviedo (2-2) was rolled over on the road by tenth ranked Universidad de Valladolid (2-2) 68-44 on Saturday. The game without a history. Universidad de Valladolid led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Oviedo to just 6 points in third quarter. Universidad de Valladolid forced 20 Oviedo turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Universidad de Valladolid especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Center Maria Parro (183-85) fired 5 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Laura Rodriguez (173-90) chipped in 13 points. Lara Fernandez (-87) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and Sara Fernandez Alvarez (-87) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Universidad de Valladolid moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Aros Leon and Oviedo. Universidad de Valladolid will face Arxil Pontevedra (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oviedo will play against Pabellon Ourense (#9).
