Regular Season Round 10: Oslo Tigers - Ullern 34-73

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Oslo: Ullern (#2) and Oslo Tigers (#6). Oslo Tigers were smashed at home by 39 points 34-73 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. Ullern led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Oslo Tigers to just 6 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. Ullern made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Oslo Tigers turnovers and outrebounded them 55-31 including a 30-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Julie McCarthy (187-93) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners. The former international power forward Tori Halvorsen (187-88, college: American) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ullern's coach Inge Kristiansen felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Shirin El-Masrouri (173-93) produced 14 points and forward Uzoma Ifejilika (-92) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ullern (6-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position having 3 victories less than leader Gimle. Oslo Tigers lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Ullern are looking forward to face Ulriken (#4) in Bergen in the next round. Oslo Tigers' supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Ammerud.
