Regular Season Round 6: Panasonic T. - Aishin SH 48-62

Another exciting game was played in Osaka between second ranked Aishin Sea Horses and one of their biggest challengers Panasonic Trians where Aishin Sea Horses (9-3) beat Panasonic Trians (8-4) on the road 62-48. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Panasonic Trians was better in fourth quarter 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses held Panasonic Trians to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.9 percent accuracy of the winners. It was a good game for the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Ryvon Covile (206-84, college: Detroit Mercy) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Takanori Onishi (195-83) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) added 6 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Panasonic Trians. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-3 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Panasonic Trians at the other side keep the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Toshiba BT. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Mitsubishi Dolphins (#6) in Nagoya in the next round. Panasonic Trians will play on the road against Tochigi Brex and hope to get back on the winning track.
