Regular Season Round 6: Suchy Las - Notec 58-86

Notec has finally registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Suchy Las, where they outplayed Suchy Las (0-5) 86-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Notec. Suchy Las was better in fourth quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Suchy Las to just 6 points in third quarter. Notec made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Suchy Las turnovers. Suchy Las were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Aleksander Filipiak (194-90) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Mikolaj Grod (194-89) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Notec players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Pawel Mowlik (182-89) with 13 points and Michal Wielechowski (193-94) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Notec (1-3) left bottom position moving up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with Trefl II Sopot and GTK Gdynia. It was Suchy Las' fifth loss in a row. Suchy Las at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with five games lost. Notec will face league's second-placed Wilki Morskie in Szczecin in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Suchy Las will play on the road against Trefl II Sopot (#7) and hope to get finally their first victory.
