Regular Season Round 22: Gansos - Osos 88-93
Date: November 10, 2012
Bottom-ranked Osos managed to get a third victory, breaking the eleven-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Osos won against fourteenth-ranked Gansos 93-88. The guests were ahead by 13 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 24-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. Osos made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Gansos were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard DerMarr Johnson (206-80, college: Cincinnati) notched 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Nick Stallings (190-83, college: Centenary) supported him with 14 points and 6 assists. Stallings is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 43 points (!!!) and 5 assists by American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) did not help to save the game for Gansos. Forward Alejandro Zarco (205-85) added 13 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gansos' coach Luis Andres Garcia rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Osos (3-19) moved-up to fifteenth place. Gansos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Osos will play against higher ranked Panteras (#6) in Aguascalientes in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gansos will play at home against Halcones Rojos (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
