Regular Season Round 6: Le Mans - Gravelines 76-61

Round 6 in ProA means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Le Mans where host Le Mans (5-1) beat league's leader Gravelines-Dunkerque (4-2) 76-61 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gravelines-Dunkerque. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Le Mans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Le Mans outrebounded Gravelines-Dunkerque 38-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was international forward Charles Kahudi (197-86, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Brazilian power forward Joao Paulo Batista (207-81, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Le Mans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Ousmane Camara (202-89) who recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) added 13 points respectively. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Le Mans have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Le Mans. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play next round against Sluc Nancy trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Le Mans will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked JDA Dijon on the road.
