Regular Season Round 8: Quimper - Rueil 74-59

Very expected game when 11th ranked Rueil (3-5) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Quimper UJAP (5-2) 74-59 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Quimper UJAP outrebounded Rueil 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish point guard Carlos Cherry (184-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists and Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. Center Moise Diame (205-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St., agency: TSS Management) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Quimper UJAP maintains fifth position with 5-2 record. Loser Rueil dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost. Quimper UJAP will face higher ranked Cognac (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rueil will play against Orchesien BC (#4) in Orchies.
