Rather predictable result in Leon where eleventh ranked Correcaminos (8-14) defeated 13th ranked Lechugueros (6-16) 91-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Correcaminos. Lechugueros managed to win fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Correcaminos made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Lechugueros turnovers. Strangely Lechugueros outrebounded Correcaminos 40-24 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American point guard Myron Allen (182-79, college: Lee JC) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Naturalized American guard Lorenzo Keeler (188-85, college: Cal Poly - SLO) chipped in 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and Trinidad and Tobago-American point guard Ian Young (191-81, college: Auburn) added 23 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Correcaminos maintains eleventh position with 8-14 record. Lechugueros lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Correcaminos will meet higher ranked Fuerza Regia (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lechugueros will play against the league's second-placed Soles (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
