Regular Season Round 8: Monaco - La Rochelle 58-72

Date: November 10, 2012
An interesting game took place in Monaco where higher ranked Monaco (3-3) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked La Rochelle (3-5) 72-58 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when La Rochelle's pressure prevailed and they won that period 21-14 extending their advantage to 14 points. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. La Rochelle forced 19 Monaco turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jarryd Cole (204-88, college: Iowa) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Madagascar swingman Amy M'Boma (199-83) who added 12 points during the contest. Serbian-Bosnian center Nemanja Calasan (205-85, college: Purdue) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Diego Vebobe (195-82) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. La Rochelle moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Rueil. Monaco at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with three games lost. La Rochelle will face league's leader Blois at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
