Regular Season Round 6: Nancy - Cholet 75-89
Date: November 10, 2012
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Cholet (4-2) beat on the road 13th ranked Sluc Nancy (1-5) 89-75. The game was mostly controlled by Cholet. Sluc Nancy was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cholet shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 65.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international forward Karim Souchu (198-79, college: Furman, agency: Prossin Sports Management) notched 22 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) to lead the effort and American forward Marcus Goree (201-77, college: W.Virginia) supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Cholet players scored in double figures. Even 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by naturalized Ivorian point guard Souleyman Diabate (183-87, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for Sluc Nancy. Vincentian center Shawn King (208-82, college: ORU) added 20 points and 6 rebounds. Sluc Nancy's coach tested ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cholet moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Sluc Nancy lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Cholet's next round opponent will be Chalon/Saor (#5) on the road. Sluc Nancy will play against the league's second-placed Gravelines-Dunkerque (#2).
