Regular Season Round 7: Sanda - Eos 68-119

Undefeated leader IK Eos recorded the sixth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Sanda Basket (0-7) 119-68 in Huskvarna. IK Eos dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Sanda Basket's 40 and made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. IK Eos forced 30 Sanda Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 38-21 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a quality performance for guard Gustav Nystrom (189-89, college: Hope) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Abdou Medjedoub (196-93) accounted for 20 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winning side. Five IK Eos players scored in double figures. Albin Hall Eriksson (-96) came up with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Dennis Meraz (196-94) added 15 points respectively for Sanda Basket in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for IK Eos. They maintain first place in South with 6-0 record, which they share with Haga Haninge. Sanda Basket lost their seventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. IK Eos' next round opponent will be Eskilstuna (#6) at home which should be theoretically another easy game. Sanda Basket will play against Hogsbo (#9) in Goteborg and hopes to get finally their first victory.
