Regular Season Round 6: GAC Eunikos - AO Ellinikou 35-78

A1 top team - AO Ellinikou (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked GAC Eunikos (0-6) in Liosa 78-35. The game without a history. AO Ellinikou led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GAC Eunikos to just 6 points in first quarter and to 13 points in first half. AO Ellinikou dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to GAC Eunikos' 16. AO Ellinikou forced 33 GAC Eunikos turnovers and outrebounded them 35-19 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Tania Chalivera (178-85) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four AO Ellinikou players scored in double figures. Eleni Solomou replied with 8 points and 6 rebounds and guard Stefania Sideri (178-94) added 9 points in the effort for GAC Eunikos. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AO Ellinikou have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted AO Ellinikou maintains first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Athinaikos. GAC Eunikos at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. AO Ellinikou's next round opponent will be Kronos AD (#5) at home. GAC Eunikos will play against Aris (#6) in Thessaloniki and hopes to get finally their first victory.
