Regular Season Round 8: Charleville - Perpignan 49-62

Date: November 10, 2012
Very predictable result when second ranked Perpignan (6-2) beat on the road 9th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (3-5) 62-49 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Perpignan. Charleville-Mezieres managed to win fourth quarter 16-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Angie Bjorklund (183-89, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds and center Helena Ciak (197-89) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Perpignan's coach Francois Gomez used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Guard Amel Bouderra (160-89) responded with 15 points and Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Perpignan have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Perpignan maintains second position with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader Lattes Montp., which they share with Nantes and Bourges. Loser Charleville-Mezieres keeps the ninth place with five games lost. Perpignan will meet at home Arras (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Toulouse (#5) and hope to secure a win.
