Very expected game in Stadrbredimus where 7th ranked Basket Esch (1-5) was defeated by second ranked Musel Pikes (5-1) 72-60. The game was mostly controlled by Musel Pikes. Basket Esch was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Musel Pikes dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Esch's 34. The winners were led by American power forward Amanda Stowe (186-79, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import power forward Christine Fisher (183-83) supported her with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds by American guard Krystal Vaughn (185-86, college: VCU, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Basket Esch. Slovakian swingman Agnesa Szaboova (179-75) added 16 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. Musel Pikes have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Etzella. Basket Esch lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. Musel Pikes will play against T71 Dudelange (#6) on the road in the next round. Basket Esch will play against Racing in Luxembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
