Very important is a road loss of third ranked Chanson V-M (10-3) against fifth ranked Toyota A. (8-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Chanson V-M was defeated by Toyota A. in Nagoya 73-62. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Chanson V-M. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota A.. Chanson V-M was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for international guard Maya Kawahara (167-87) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) answered with 15 points and 5 assists and guard Minaho Miyoshi (167-93) added 18 points in the effort for Chanson V-M. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toyota A.. They maintain fifth place with 8-5 record. Chanson V-M at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Mitsubishi K.. Toyota A. will again play against higher ranked Chanson V-M (#3) in Shizuoka in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chanson V-M will have a break next round.
