Regular Season Round 10: Toyama Grouses - Gunma 99-71

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Gunma (0-11) was outplayed on the road by third ranked Toyama Grouses (7-4) 99-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Toyama Grouses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: SDJ Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Power forward Brandon Cole (203-84, college: Xavier, agency: Global Sports Plaza) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. Power forward Lewis Witcher (207-87, college: Virginia Tech) produced 25 points and center Thomas Granado (208-88, college: Concordia Irvine) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyama Grouses moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Gunma still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Toyama Grouses will face again Gunma (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
