Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Thessaloniki: PAOK (#5) and Aris (#4). PAOK (4-2) smashed visiting Aris (3-3) by 34 points 70-36. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aris. The game without a history. PAOK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aris to just 6 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. PAOK dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Aris' 24. They also forced 25 Aris turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Anna Stamolamprou (171-95) who scored 18 points. The former international guard Nafsika Stavridou (182-86) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian center Aleksandra Begenisic (193-89) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Roula Mouli (177-85) added 3 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. PAOK moved-up to fourth place. Loser Aris dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Kronos AD and Terpsithea. PAOK will meet Asteras (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Aris will play against GAC Eunikos (#11) in Liosa and hope to secure a win.
