The most interesting game of round 7 in the A2 was only two-point a home defeat of 5th ranked T. La Spezia (4-2) to fourth ranked S. La Spezia (5-1) 65-63. It ended the three-game winning streak of T. La Spezia. T. La Spezia was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for international center Maria Laterza (190-89, college: Marist, agency: Two Points) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. International forward Silvia Favento (185-85) helped adding 22 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Latvian power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Valentina Costa (168-84) scored 19 points. S. La Spezia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Bologna. T. La Spezia at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Min.Battipaglia. S. La Spezia is looking forward to face Min.Battipaglia (#6) at home in the next round.
