Regular Season Round 11: Yokohama BC - Shinshu BW 72-81

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Yokohama BC (5-3) lost at home to sixth ranked Shinshu BW (6-4) 81-72 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Yokohama BC won fourth quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shinshu BW had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Takanori Goya (190-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Global Sports Plaza) answered with 23 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul, agency: Top Notch Sports) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Yokohama BC. Yokohama BC's coach Reggie Geary let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Shinshu BW moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Shinshu BW will face higher ranked Akita Happinets (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yokohama BC will play against Sendai 89ers.
