Regular Season Round 16: Toyota B SR - Aishin AW 77-82

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Aishin Wings (4-10) won against 8th ranked Toyota B SR (5-9) in Aichi 82-77 on Sunday. Aishin Wings dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota B SR's 40 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Aishin Wings had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by guard Hitomi Takasaki (168-86) who scored that evening 23 points and 4 assists and power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) supported her with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) did not help to save the game for Toyota B SR. Swingman Tomomi Ikeda (169-88) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Four Toyota B SR players scored in double figures. Aishin Wings moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Hitachi Cougars. Toyota B SR lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Aishin Wings will meet at home Ebara Vickies (#11) in the next round. Toyota B SR will play against Chanson V-M in Shizuoka and hope to secure a win.
