No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Trenkwalder RE (4-3) beat on the road 13th ranked Sutor Montegranaro (2-5) 94-80 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-80. It was a very good performance for American guard Donnel Taylor (198-82, college: UAB) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. American-Swiss Greg Brunner (201-83, college: Iowa) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Trenkwalder RE's coach Massimiliano Menetti used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Latvian Rolands Freimanis (210-88) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sutor Montegranaro. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Trenkwalder RE. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Acea Virtus RM and SAIE3 BO. Loser Sutor Montegranaro dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Trenkwalder RE will face SAIE3 BO (#6) in Bologna in the next round. Sutor Montegranaro will play on the road against Enel Brindisi (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
