Regular Season Round 7: Groningen - Zwolle 85-83

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Eredivisie took place in Groningen. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Zwolle (5-3) to fifth ranked Groningen (5-2) 85-83 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Zwolle. Groningen made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Surinamese forward Sergio de Randamie (201-84, college: Houston, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. International Jessey Voorn (193-90, agency: Court Side) helped adding 18 points (made all of his eight free throws). Groningen's coach Hakim Salem used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Josh Magette (185-90, college: Al.-Huntsville, agency: Pro One Sports) responded with 24 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and the other American import guard Zack Novak (193-90, college: Michigan, agency: Priority Sports) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Groningen and five Zwolle players scored in double figures. Groningen moved-up to third place. Zwolle at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with M.Magixx. Groningen are looking forward to face Weert (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zwolle will play against M.Magixx (#4) in Nijmegen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
