Very predictable result in Venezia where third ranked Umana Reyer (6-1) smashed 8th ranked San Salvatore (3-4) 84-43 on Sunday. The game without a history. Umana Reyer led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to San Salvatore's 24. Umana Reyer forced 33 San Salvatore turnovers and outrebounded them 34-16 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Umana Reyer looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by San Salvatore's players. It was a great evening for center Gloria Vian (190-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. Romanian forward Simina Mandache (185-81) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Umana Reyer players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bulgarian forward Roksana Yordanova (184-84) responded with 17 points and point guard Anna Lussu (163-85) scored 9 points and 7 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Umana Reyer moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Milano. San Salvatore at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Umana Reyer will face Valmadrera (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Salvatore will play against Milano (#3).
