There was no surprise when 13th ranked Union Hainaut (1-7) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Nantes Reze (6-2) 79-70 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 22-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Nantes Reze forced 21 Union Hainaut turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of DR Congolese center Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-82) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Isis Arrondo (166-89) who added 15 points during the contest. Four Nantes Reze players scored in double figures. Nantes Reze's coach Emmanuel Coeuret used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Greek power forward Stefanie Murphy (192-89, college: Boston Coll.) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Marie Frederique Ayissi (184-82) scored 10 points. Nantes Reze moved-up to second place, which they share with Perpignan and Bourges. Loser Union Hainaut dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Villeneuve. Nantes Reze will meet Tarbes (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Union Hainaut will play against Aix-en-Provence in Les Milles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
