There was no surprise when 8th ranked Tln Kalev (1-6) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Valga (5-4) 68-58. The hosts were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 26-11 run, which allowed them to win the game. Valga outrebounded Tln Kalev 41-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Latvian center Raitis Grafs (208-81, college: Valparaiso) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international swingman Veljo Vares (200-81) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds by Nigerian-American forward Ike Okoye (206, college: Boise St.) did not help to save the game for Tln Kalev. American-Italian guard Marc Campbell (180-86, college: N.Carolina) added 13 points and 5 assists. Tln Kalev's coach Kalle Klandorf tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Valga moved-up to third place. Tln Kalev lost third consecutive game.
