Date: November 13, 2012
Bottom-ranked Denain Voltaire managed to get the second consecutive victory on Tuesday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked JL Bourg 85-80. And what about a second win in a row after ...seven consecutive loses. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-19. But JL Bourg won second period 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Denain Voltaire won last quarter 28-24. They made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game, while JL Bourg only scored five points from the stripe. It was a good game for American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 5 steals. His fellow American import point guard Lee Humphrey (189-84, college: Florida) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Denain Voltaire's coach Marc Silvert used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward David Monds (205-83, college: Oklahoma St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Gambian forward Moses Sonko (197-83, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Two Points) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for JL Bourg. Denain Voltaire (2-7) moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Hyeres-Toulon and Charleville. Loser JL Bourg dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost.
