Regular Season Round 5: Kumanovo - Levski Sofia 87-80

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Bulgarian Levski Sofia (2-1) on the court of third ranked FYR Macedonian Kumanovo 2009 on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Kumanovo 2009 87-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Levski Sofia. It was a key game for the second position in Group A. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 29-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Levski Sofia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Ivica Dimcevski (194-89, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 29 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Serbian center Uros Lukovic (212-89) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds. Four Kumanovo 2009 players scored in double figures. Levski Sofia's coach Konstantin Papazov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumanovo 2009 (3-1) moved-up to second place in Group A. Levski Sofia at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Kumanovo 2009 is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Mornar Bar (#5) on the road in the next round. Levski Sofia will play against Djuro Djakovic in Slavonski Brod and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
