Regular Season Round 12: Tokyo Cinq R. - Gunma 65-63

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Gunma (1-13) was edged on the road by seventh ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (5-7) 65-63 on Thursday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gunma was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-15 charge of Tokyo Cinq R., which allowed them to win the game. Gunma was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and guard Kenji Sato (180-79) who added 7 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Thomas Granado (208-88, college: Concordia Irvine) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) scored 12 points. Gunma's coach Ryan Blackwell let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tokyo Cinq R. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 5-7 record. Gunma lost twelfth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
