Regular Season Round 23: Osos - Panteras 91-94

Fifteenth-ranked Osos (3-20) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Panteras (15-8). The visitors from Aguascalientes managed to secure only three-point victory 94-91. However their fans expected much easier game. Osos cut a 17-point first quarter deficit to three at the end of the game. Puerto Rican point guard Ricardo Melendez (179-83, agency: Paris Global Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 34 points (!!!). Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) contributed with 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. American guard Nick Stallings (190-83, college: Centenary, LA) answered with 30 points and 7 assists and the other American import guard DerMarr Johnson (206-80, college: Cincinnati) added 21 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Osos. Osos' coach Alejandro Ramirez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Panteras maintains sixth place with 15-8 record. Newly promoted Osos keep the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Panteras will play against bottom-ranked Gigantes (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Osos will play against Barreteros in Zacatecas and hope to get back on the winning track.
