Second Stage Round 3: Boca Jrs - La Union 74-65

Date: November 16, 2012
Not a big story in a game in Buenos Aires where 15th ranked La Union (4-13) was defeated by twelfth ranked Boca Juniors (6-9) 74-65 on Friday. La Union trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 65-74 at the end of the game. Boca Juniors made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward John DeGroat (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. International guard Federico Van Lacke (191-80) helped adding 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American forward Gregory Lewis (200-78, college: Winthrop, agency: Dream Team Management) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Kyle Lamonte (191-84, college: William Carey) scored 18 points. Boca Juniors maintains twelfth place with 6-9 record, which they share with Union Progr. Loser La Union dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Boca Juniors will face Union Progresista (#13) in Villa Angela in the next round. La Union will play on the road against Obras in Buenos Aires and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
