Regular Season Round 7: Toshiba BT - Hitachi SR 74-85

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (8-6) won against 4th placed Toshiba Thunders (8-6) in Kanagawa 85-74 on Friday. Hitachi Sunrockers shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Quite impressive performance for American center Darren Fenn (208-80, college: Canisius, agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) added 19 points in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hitachi Sunrockers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Toshiba BT. Hitachi Sunrockers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Osaka Panasonic Trians.
