Regular Season Round 7: Saskatchewan - Calgary 71-73

Date: November 16, 2012
Very predictable result when leader Calgary (5-0) edged 6th ranked Saskatchewan (2-3) in Saskatoon 73-71 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-18. But Saskatchewan won third quarter 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for forward Jessica Franz (183) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Tamara Jarrett (168-91) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Dalyce Emmerson (191) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds and guard Kelsey Trulsrud (178) added 6 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Saskatchewan. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Calgary. They maintain first place with 5-0 record, which they share with UFV. Loser Saskatchewan keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Calgary will have a break next round. Saskatchewan will play again at home against the league's leader Calgary (#1) in Exshaw.
