Everything could happen in Athens at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Ikaros Kalitheas and 9th ranked Olympiakos had identical 2-4 record. But Olympiakos was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Glyfada 73-55. The game without a history. Ikaros Kalitheas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Ikaros Kalitheas had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American center Jasmine Erving (187-90, college: CS Northridge) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Theoni Tzegianaki (162-85) accounted for 9 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side. Ikaros Kalitheas' coach Giorgos Leivadis used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The former international forward Niki Zerva (183-79) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and forward Evi Kiriatzidou (181) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Olympiakos in the defeat. Ikaros Kalitheas (3-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Kronos AD and Terpsithea. Newly promoted Olympiakos keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Ikaros Kalitheas' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Panionios (#12) in Athens which should be theoretically an easy game. Olympiakos will play on the road against PAOK in Thessaloniki.
