4th placed Musel Pikes (4-5) fell to seventh ranked T71 (4-5) in overtime by three points 92-95 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Musel Pikes won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Musel Pikes used huge pressure winning it 21-17 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-13. It was a good game for international point guard Tom Schumacher (190-87, college: Cal.Baptist) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Ryan Sharry (203-89, college: Middlebury, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American forward Trenton Wurtz (203-83, college: Indiana St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) added 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks in the effort for Musel Pikes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. T71 moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Musel Pikes. T71 will face higher ranked Etzella (#3) in Ettelbruck in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Musel Pikes will play at home against the league's leader Sparta in Bertrange.
