Regular Season Round 12: Akita NH - Shinshu BW 68-72

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Akita Happinets (7-2) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Shinshu BW (7-4) 72-68 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Shinshu BW outrebounded Akita Happinets 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward T.J. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA, agency: Top Notch Sports) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St., agency: Top Notch Sports) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shinshu BW moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Akita Happinets keep the third position with two games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round. Akita Happinets will play again at home against Shinshu BW in Nagano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
