Regular Season Round 10: Lider Pruszkow - Energa Torun 56-68

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Lider Pruszkow (5-4) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Energa Torun (5-3) 68-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Energa Torun. Lider Pruszkow managed to win fourth quarter 21-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Energa Torun made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Lider Pruszkow turnovers. American guard Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international center Martyna Koc (186-83, agency: Promotex) chipped in 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Sydney Colson (172-89, college: Texas A&M) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and her fellow American import power forward Kali Bennett (195, college: Arizona St.) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Lider Pruszkow's coach Adam Prabucki rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Energa Torun moved-up to fourth place. Loser Lider Pruszkow dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Energa Torun will meet league's leader Artego Bydg. in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Lider Pruszkow will play against the league's second-placed CCC Polkowice (#2) and hope to secure a win.
