Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Salon Vilpas and 10th ranked Forssan Koripojat had identical 3-7 record. This time Salon Vilpas used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Forssa 99-74 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Salon Vilpas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Forssan Koripojat's players. The winners were led by American forward Troy Barnies (200-89, college: Maine) who scored that evening 18 points and 5 assists and international guard Alex Vaenerberg (183-92) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) did not help to save the game for Forssan Koripojat. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) added 16 points and 4 assists. Four Salon Vilpas and five Forssan Koripojat players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Salon Vilpas (4-7) moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Forssan Koripojat dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Namika Lahti. Salon Vilpas will meet at home higher ranked LrNMKY (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Forssan Koripojat will play against UU-Korihait in Uusikaupunki and hope to secure a win.
