Regular Season Round 7: Alba Chorzow - Wschowa 84-74

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Wschowa (0-6) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Alba Chorzow (2-5) 84-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alba Chorzow. Wschowa was better in third quarter 28-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alba Chorzow forced 21 Wschowa turnovers. Power forward Adam Spychala (197-84) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Forward Tomasz Gembus (198-87) chipped in 19 points. Four Alba Chorzow players scored in double figures. Forward Adam Chodkiewicz (200-90) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds and Wojciech Rzeszowski (-90) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Alba Chorzow moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Mickiewicz. Newly promoted Wschowa still closes the standings with six games lost. Alba Chorzow will face higher ranked WKK Wroclaw (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wschowa will play against HK Zory (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
