Much higher ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (4-3) fell to fifteenth ranked Sluc Nancy (2-5) in overtime by four points 79-83 on Saturday night. The game took place in Gravelines. But the guests from Nancy were better at the end. Gravelines-Dunkerque was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 20-17 charge of Sluc Nancy, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-9. Sluc Nancy outrebounded Gravelines-Dunkerque 47-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Ivorian point guard Souleyman Diabate (183-87, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). American swingman Torrell Martin (196-85, college: Winthrop) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Dwight Buycks (190-89, college: Marquette) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward J.K. Edwards (202-82, college: UNLV) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gravelines-Dunkerque. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sluc Nancy moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Sluc Nancy will face higher ranked JDA Dijon (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#15).
