Very predictable result when fourth ranked Nitra (6-3) smashed at home bottom-ranked Svit (1-8) 101-77. The game without a history. Nitra led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho) nailed 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international center Branislav Tomek (205-83) accounted for 12 points and 13 rebounds. Nitra's coach Lubomir Urban felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Curtis Allen (193-86, college: ORU, agency: TSS Management) came up with 26 points and the other American import center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Miami Dade CC) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Svit in the defeat. Five Nitra and four Svit players scored in double figures. Nitra have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Svit lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Nitra will play against Inter Bratislava (#4) on the road in the next round. Svit will play against SKP Banska Bystrica (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
