Regular Season Round 8: Start Gdynia - Rosa Radom 63-61

Bottom-ranked Start Gdynia managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Start Gdynia edged tenth-ranked Rosa Radom 63-61. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Rosa Radom won third quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Rosa Radom 47-24 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Patryk Pelka (202-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Grzegorz Mordzak (183-77, agency: Promotex) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Guard Artur Donigiewicz (185-84) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian Slaven Cupkovic (205-88, agency: BeoExcell) added 14 points in the effort for Rosa Radom. Four Rosa Radom players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Start Gdynia (2-6) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Siarka Jezioro and Rosa Radom. Rosa Radom lost third consecutive game. Start Gdynia will face league's leader Energa Czarni in Slupsk in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
